Erotic Shadow Work with the Inner Child
There is a part of you that wanted to scream.
That wanted to throw something.
That wanted to be held while it happened.
And there’s another part—quieter, smaller—that nodded politely, smiled sweetly, and became what the world needed her to be. She was the “good girl.” She was careful, needed, praised. But she was also lonely.
This is the dance of the inner child in shadow work:
the one who rages in secret,
and the one who disappears to stay safe.
The Sacred Tantrum: Anger as an Erotic Messenger
Many of us learned that rage and desire were threats to our belonging. But what if the tantrum was sacred? What if beneath the anger is a longing for touch, attention, and choice?
The sacred tantrum is not a sign of regression—it’s a signal of something suppressed. It’s erotic in the sense that it wants to move, to be felt, to live. It’s your nervous system knocking at the door, begging to be remembered.
Tantrum work doesn’t mean acting out.
It means listening in.
It means noticing where you clench your jaw when you say “I’m fine.”
It means letting the pillow catch your scream,
letting the journal page hold your forbidden words.
Your rage is the erotic voice that wasn’t allowed to speak. The voice that was told to be silent.
The Good Girl’s Ghost
Then there’s her: the pleasing one, the smart one, the helper, the one who never needed much.
She learned love was earned through quiet compliance and simple smiles.
She became good at disappearing inside herself.
But the cost?
She became a ghost to her own pleasure.
Erotic reclamation means summoning her back—not to perform, not to please—but to play, to explore, to want.
When the good girl meets her shadow, something powerful happens.
She doesn’t become bad.
She becomes honest.
She cries when she needs to.
She asks for what she wants.
She stops apologizing for taking up space.
Meeting Them Both in Ritual
What if you created a space where both could meet?
Where the sacred tantrum could be witnessed,
and the good girl could take off her costume?
Doesn’t that sound liberating?
This month, as Leo’s fire burns through false personas, you are invited to choose yourself again.
Choose the child who needed to yell.
Choose the child who needed to be free.
Choose them both.
And choose to witness this beautiful experience of erotic reclamation.
Journal Prompts for Integration:
- What was I taught about “goodness” as a child?
- Where in my body do I feel the ghost of my inner good girl?
- What is my sacred tantrum trying to express?
- How can I offer pleasure or play to my inner child this week?
Want to feel this in your body?

Personal note: I got a chance to experience this meeting with my own sacred tantrum and ghost girl. Although hard to admit in the beginning what was happening (ghost girl), my sacred tantrum spoke in a way to be seen, heard, feel, and understood. Those wounds I thought were just whispers spoke in through my sacred tantrum. My ghost girl stopped pleasing outwardly and began to please inwardly with holding space and giving me compassion. She no longer disappeared. Through this meeting, this integration I allowed self to be in my Leo Rising energy and be seen.
This happened last week.
