Hi everyone. I am Tahiyya Martin.  I am honored that you are here.

Growing up I always knew I wanted to work with people. I loved to play teacher with my stuffed animals and dolls. Then life happened and I experienced my own pains. Fast forward and through my pains I’ve had many gains and  wanted to give back to others, help others through their healing, recovery, and shifting process.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate in the state of North Carolina. I specialize in working with women in individual, couples, and family therapy. My primary areas of interest inclues addiction, ADHD, anxiety disorders, codependency, depression disorders, disordered eating, relationship skills, work-life balance, maternal mental health, self esteem, and personal development.

I approach therapy with the mindset of  providing a safe place to build a therapeutic relationship that is nurturing, challenging, supportive, and empowering to the client. I use a combination of Experiential, Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, and Systems Therapies to treat the whole person. I believe in providing a safe place for healing, recovery, and shifting.

I graduated from Liberty University with a MA in Human Services: Marriage and Family and Walden University with a MS in Marriage, Couple, Family Counseling. I have worked in the mental health and substance use field for ten years in residential, community health and outpatient therapy with a diverse population and issues to include ADHD, mood, personality and behavioral disorders, addiction, disordered eating, infidelity, trauma, couple and family issues. I am trained in Seeking Safety, CBT & DBT, Motivational Interviewing as well as trained as a Family Trauma Professional by IATP/PESI.

Ask about Walk and Talk Therapy…

Walk and Talk therapy is a therapy approach that involves using talk therapy in combination with exercise and being outside with nature for a relaxed and calming effect. I utilize walk and talk therapy for individuals who are drawn to nature and feel safe talking about their issues while moving.

I truly believe in wholistic healing  therefore my eclectic approach is geared towards healing and shifting the mind, body, and spirit.
